In celebration of Bendigo Art Gallery’s exhibition we revisit classic films featuring Edith Head’s costume creations, including the day suit worn by Audrey Hepburn in Funny Face and the sports coat worn by Cary Grant in To Catch a Thief – both featured in the exhibition.
Patrons at each session go in the draw to win a double pass to see The Costume Designer: Edith Head and Hollywood.
Genre: Comedy, Romance. Dir: William Wyler. Country: USA/Italy.
Overwhelmed touring European princess Ann (Audrey Hepburn) takes off for a night while in Rome.
When a sedative she took from her doctor kicks in, she falls asleep on a park bench and is found by American reporter Joe Bradley (Gregory Peck), who takes her back to his apartment for safety.
At work the next morning, Joe finds out Ann’s regal identity and bets his editor he can get an exclusive interview with her, but romance soon gets in the way.
An utterly enchanting classic.
